From my perspective, I did not fear for my own personal safety while in Moscow. I believe we were all cautious when traveling the Metro or walking at night. We were told to keep our personal items close ie: pocketbooks, wallets etc. There are pickpockets who would take advantage of a situation in Moscow as there are everywhere. Thanks for the question. Safety is always a consideration no matter where one is traveling.
